about:
Temptation Eyes is Kerianne's fic blog. The title comes from the song by the Grass Roots, which I am currently listening to on constant repeat for some reason I can't quite discern. ^_^ It really has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to use it as a title. XD XD

This blog will contain fic snippets, alerts about newly posted fics or chapters, and other such writing-related things. For my typical day-to-day and social blog stuff, visit space between, my main blog.

layout:
Kasumi Karen from X. This image appeared in the December 2001 issue of Asuka, and is completely and utterly gorgeous. *worships Karen-sama* It fits quite well with the title of this blog as well, considering that's quite a tempting expression on her face... ^_~ I made the layout, and spent several hours removing the goddamn text that the Asuka people insist on plastering all over their pinups. ><;;;; Lyrics from "Temptation Eyes" by the Grass Roots, obviously. XD

works in progress:

In the Absence of Sun
Original fiction
The slightly twisted tale of a cynical college student, her flaky roommate, a charismatic and utterly insane cult leader, a brooding cryptic guy, his uke partner, a sexy reporter, his cannon-fodder girlfriend, and anyone else who decides to show up. ^_~

The Becoming
X fanfiction
Aoki/Karen, Sorata/Arashi, Yuuto/everyone ^^;;;
In which Undead!Yuuto solves everyone's problems. ^_^

Currently Untitled Honeymoon Fic
X fanfiction
Lots of pairings, but mostly Aoki/Karen
Sequel to Little Lies. In which we find out that everyone is a raging pervert, and going on vacation only makes it worse.

Educating Seiichirou
X fanfiction
Aoki/Karen
This fic has no redeeming value whatsoever and I should be shot for writing it. If the title sounds like a bad porno to you, you have no idea how right you are. ^^

Playing the Game
X fanfiction
Yuuto/Sorata
Yay, more bad porn! But this time it's bad yaoi porn, so that makes it okay.

Broken Wings
X fanfiction
Aoki/Karen, Sorata/Arashi, Seishirou/Subaru (sort of), and others
Ah yes, my poor neglected epic-to-be. I'll work on it again sometime. Soon. I swear. ^^;;;

+ many others that are not yet titled or fully conceptualized, not to mention the plotbunnies... x.x

*blows dust off blog* Okay... yeah. I've been going through a horrible dry period for writing since Christmas, but I'm back! :D You know you missed me.

Anyway. Here's the beginnings of my new fic... it's horribly sappy and shameless and schmoopy, but I don't care. <33333 A/K, of course, and may be a oneshot or a series depending on where the plot goes and how lazy I am. :P

Don't Dream It's Over

Leave comments or I eat you. O_O

Aaaand... as a bonus, I'm finally posting the beginnings of a fic I happen to be incredibly proud of... most of which was written way back in September, but I'm only getting around to posting it now. ^^;;;; Anyway, it's a humor fic, a sequel to "Little Lies" (if you haven't read that fic, all you need to know is that Shimako never existed ^^;;;), absolutely crazy and self-referential and focusing on the whole cast for once. Please please leave comments, like I said, I'm very proud of this fic and I hope you like it as much as I do. ^__^

Untitled honeymoon fic

Oh, and the Subaru bit at the end? It's probably going to be a running omake in this series, but I got the idea for it after reading one too many CLICHED Subaru angst fics on FF.net. ^^;;;; Anyway, I think it's funny, but if you're a hardcore Subaru fan, you might not... but I hope you do anyway. XD

EDIT: *sigh* I apologize to anyone who was expecting more of the Christmas fic snippet I had posted here earlier, but I'm afraid that due to some random attacks of anxiety, a general sense of apathy and a lot of Christmas preparations to get done, I'm not going to have the fic done by Christmas. Hopefully next year... :/ Until then, I promise to write something for New Years'. Really. ^_~

*waves* And for my inaugural post, I offer the first scene of my sad attempt at original fiction, In the Absence of Sun. It's pretty boring (exposition always is), but trust me, it gets better. As soon as I write more, that is. Ehehe. ^^;;; Also keep in mind that I haven't written any real original fiction (i.e. that has an actual plot) since middle school. So be kind. XD

Oh, another note: this is not for NaNoWriMo. Me, write a novel in a month? I'll be lucky if I have a chapter done by the end of the month; I really must work on my work ethic and sporadic inspiration... regardless, it's not going to be anywhere near done by the end of November, so don't even think about it. XD XD

Okay. Without further adieu... the opening scene. *bows and finds a corner to hide in*

"You're going."

"No. I'm not." Serena Lucius pulled her covers over her head in an ineffectual attempt at defiance. "I'm not leaving this room until those idiots are back in their dorms drinking themselves into oblivion as usual."

From beneath her semi-darkened little cocoon, she heard Caitlin Madigan utter a vaguely impatient sigh. "They're not all like that," Caitlin said, with the weary tone of someone who has repeated the same words so many times that they've almost stopped making sense.

"No, you're right. Only 99 percent of them are."

"You're so stubborn..." Serena heard footsteps, followed by a soft flomp, and hid a smile. Without lifting her head, she could tell exactly what position Caitlin was in; true to her dramatic nature, she had undoubtedly thrown herself onto her bed and was now in an advanced state of pouting. Well, let her pout. Serena knew she was going to lose this argument for the second year in a row, but damned if she was going to go down without putting up a fight.

"If you keep holing up in here, your whole college experience is going to be wasted, you know," Caitlin continued matter-of-factly.

"What a shame," Serena mumbled dryly.

"Come on... There are some clubs I think you'd really like." Serena winced at the slight pleading tone in her roommate's voice. She may have been a cynic in every sense of the word, but oddly enough she was always a sucker for the aural equivalent of sad puppy-dog eyes.

"Like what?" she asked reluctantly.

"There are some great sororities!" Caitlin answered, her tone immediately brightening. "I'm pledging Sigma--"

Serena interrupted her friend with a snort. "The day I willingly spend time with those self-absorbed harpies is the day I'll--"

"All right, so sororities are out," Caitlin interrupted hastily. "How about the political clubs? Oh, I know-- you should join the Young Democrats! You did spend all that time whining about Bush being elected--"

"Can't do anything about that now, can I?" Serena smirked. She'd already decided to go, if only to keep Caitlin from pouting for three days straight as she tended to do when she didn't get her way. There was no reason that she couldn't have a little fun getting on her best friend's nerves first, though.

"The campus newspaper?" Caitlin asked desperately, now grasping at straws.

"Too much work." 3, 2, 1... Serena counted to herself.

Caitlin emitted an explosive sound of irritation. "You are so hopeless!" she growled.

Blastoff.

Serena grinned and sat up, pushing the covers off her head and smoothing down her long red hair. "I'm just kidding. I'll go to the stupid activities night if that'll make you happy."

Caitlin's countenance immediately changed from a frown to a beaming smile. "I knew you'd give in eventually," she said brightly. "And promise me you'll give something a chance this year?"

Serena pasted on an innocent face. "Define giving a chance."

"Hmm... actually dragging yourself to a few meetings?" Caitlin made a face at her friend.

"I'll be happy to give anything a chance if it can hold my attention."

"What does, though? I know you're looking for something, but sometimes I wonder if you even know what it is..."

Serena flinched a little, glancing up at her friend's face, which had taken on a serious, concerned expression. Immediately she grabbed a pillow off her bed and tossed it at Caitlin. "Lighten up, Cait. Just because I don't want to mingle with the drunks, druggies and mouth-breathing idiots that run rampant on this campus doesn't mean I'm a social misfit."

"How do you know they're all like that? You and I aren't like that-- do you think we're the only intelligent, worthy beings in the area?"

Serena tilted her head and regarded Caitlin mock-thoughtfully. "Yes. And I'm not always totally sure about you."

Caitlin rolled her eyes and threw Serena's pillow back at her. "Seriously, you gotta get out of this room now and then. You're always complaining that life is boring, and it's always going to be boring until you take control of it and change it!"

"You sound like my mother," Serena groaned.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. That or Dr. Phil. I can't quite decide."

"Yeah, well, me, your mother and Dr. Phil all think that you're going to have another miserable year if you don't get out and find something interesting to do with yourself. I mean, I know spending time with me is about the coolest thing you could possibly do, but everyone needs a little variety sometimes, huh?"

Serena narrowed her eyes. "Hey. Who says I was miserable last year?"

"You were so bored that you came close to physically attaching yourself to the Playstation!"

"Hey, me and the Playstation had a very special relationship. You're just jealous." The redheaded girl smirked, then forced herself to regain some sense of seriousness when she caught sight of the true concern on Caitlin's face. "I'll be fine, Cait. I'm happy with my life the way it is. Not everyone needs to play the social butterfly game like you do, you know."

Caitlin sighed, but it was clear that she knew she had lost. "If you insist. But the next time you complain about being bored, so help me, I'll--"

"Understood, ma'am," Serena interrupted with a mock salute, and was rewarded by her favorite pair of black pants hitting her in the face.

"Now get dressed," Caitlin said firmly. "We're about to take Activities Night by storm."

"Aww... you mean I can't go in my pajamas?" Serena asked with a grin. Caitlin huffed and tossed a random shirt at her. "Guess that's a no."

Yeah, I know... not too interesting. But next scene, I promise, it'll get better. My psycho cult leader shows up next scene. ^.^ If you have any comments, please leave them by clicking on the comments link below. ^^;;;
